I am overjoyed to report to all of you that I am now a Youth Pastor Intern at Cline Avenue Fellowship in Highland, IN. I am having a great time serving God and sharing the Lord and Savior with teenagers from around “”Da Region””. I graduated from Purdue University this past May, and I will begin study at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky this August.

I have been a Financial Analyst with GE Power System based out of Atlanta, GA for the past year since graduation, but am now currently located on the beach in sunny Melbourne, Florida for 6 months or so. Looking forward to making my way back to Atlanta to settle, and I would also like to find some time in between work to make it back up to the house on David Ross. I hope all is well there and hope to visit again soon. Later, guys… Brian Newsome #1405

I am a Financial Analyst with GE Energy here in Atlanta, GA and have been with GE since graduation from Purdue in ’02. Life now mostly consists of work, but I also spend lots of time with friends at the bars after work and on weekends…kind of like school all over again. Hope everyone is doing well and I hope to see some of you again at homecoming one of these years.

Hey everyone. I hope this message finds everyone doing well. Life is going great for me. For the people who don’t know, I went back to my old high school in Elkhart, IN to teach. I teach U.S. and World History. I am also the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach, and Head Freshmen Football Coach. I really don’t have time for anything else. School keeps me so busy. However, getting the summers off is nice. Well, if anyone wants to email me it is See you later

I’m now employed by Molex Inc (Lisle, IL), a manufacturer of electronic connectors, as a technical inside sales representative and plan to move into design engineering. I’m still dating a lovely girl named Beth and wedding bells are not too far away. In the mean time I’m still in Homewood, so feel free to send an email if you want to catch up (

Working in Lake Bluff, IL at Paterno Wines International as an Associate Brand Manager for 5 Italian wine brands. Currently living in Lincoln Park with roommate Jeff Hylek – our place is over Durkins if anyone’s in town and wants to grab an ale. Used to live with W.O.S. but got tired of watching him hose down Red Bud and try to explain why ants and skunks are nice to live with. Saw Unit a few weeks ago – still waiting for our BBQ invite to chill with him and my alter ego 4/30/76 brother (who I am convinced is MIA or PWLAB). Also started to date a really gorgeous woman from Riverside name Laura. I think we hear wedding bells in the future, so be ready for some more Running Bear! Y.I.T.M.C.

Working for what used to be Allied Domecq – the #2 wine & spirits company in the U.S. – as Fine Wine Trade Marketing Manager. Based out of Arlington, VA. Moving back to west coast in September to pursue other career/education options (possibly an MBA in Seattle at UW?). Stood up with Dustin Bator, Jeff Hylek at Greg Fisher’s wedding in July. Kurj, Nut, Heffley, WOS, Vester, etc. were all there. Tom Grob and his wife, Leslie, were out here to see friends – got to spend some time with them (they’re doing well. Tom is flying regional jets for Masaba out of Detroit). No, I’m not married. Not even close to tackling that…will leave it to the likes of Kurj (who gets married Sept. 24 in Andover, MA, by the way). Attaching a photo of me and Franco Biondi-Santi: legacy of the pioneer in Brunello di Montalcino. Great wines…really cool guy. Photo taken while I travelled through Italy in ’03. Peace out!

Greetings brothers. I felt it was past due to update my last status update so here ya go. So I got married, moved back east to salvage the marriage, got FALSELY accused of abusing the wife (ha, that’s a funny story), and am now back to happily living with my new and improved roomate in a house way too big for us! I’ll tell you all the gritty details one on one if you want! Not all bad, though. Work is very fulfilling, and keeps me busy. May possibly try to get relocated again in a few years…England maybe!? I hope ya’ll are doing well, and hope to hear from some of you out there.

Since my graduation in May of 2001 I was hired by a mid-size engineering firm, Curtiss-Wright Controls. I spent the next year in Switzerland learning technology developed by the Swiss branch of Curtiss-Wright. I am now living in a town north of Los Angeles, Calif., called Santa Clarita. I am currently engaged and will be married October 25, 2003.

Brothers, Greetings from California! I am now in Berkeley pursuing a PHD in mechanical engineering, focusing on micro and nano scale sensors. Sounds a bit heavy, but not to worry, the girls are pretty and the weather nice. I spent the last 8 months taking some time off and traveling a bit so I am now ready to dive back into the academic world, though it may hurt a bit at first. If anyone is around the area, look me up and we can go over to Napa Valley or Frisco. I hope this finds everyone in good health and enjoying life. Unfortunately, it will be a while until I will be able to make it back to 951 or even the midwest in general. So until then, my best wishes to all. YITMC Jason Valentine #1464

Its been over 3 years since I put an update on here and I almost forgot about this site until I referred it to Darin Lundberg. I’m still out in Seattle, now working as a biz tech consultant for Accenture. I’m currently engaged and have the wedding planned in April of 2007. I miss Purdue football, but I have a lot going on here in WA so it keeps me distracted. For the last four years I have been living in San Antonio, Tex. I work for the Hyatt Regency San Antonio hotel on the Riverwalk (not to be confused with the Hyatt Hill Country Resort also located in San Antonio.) I am a Catering/Convention Services Manager. This means that I make all arrangements for convention groups that come to town and stay in our hotel including everything from sleeping rooms to meetings, meal functions and liesure activities. It is a fun job that keeps me very busy and gives me the opportunity to meet and work with some very interesting people. I have kept in touch with quite a few of the brothers from our chapter over the years, although not as well I would like. There are a couple of people that I see and talk to on a regular basis. Adam Sanderson ’00, lives in Houston, Tex., which is only approx. 200 miles from San Antonio. We try to get together as much as possible and I will be the best man in his wedding in May. Ryan Palmer ’01, lives here in San Antonio. I will be in his wedding in July. Every once and awhile I am able to make it back to the midwest and usually get to see some of the boys, Jamie Vester, Bill Sechen ’01, Tom Grob ’99, Dave Griffiths ’02, Jeff Hylek ’02, and Greg Fisher ’01, to name a few. It has been awhile since I was able to make this trip, though. I did get together with a lot of the guys at another wedding last summer. I hope everyone is doing well. Give me a call if anyone is ever in Texas!

I’m living in Colorado Springs right now after getting my MBA from the University of Colorado, but in short order, Brian Rockey and I will be starting our own business to provide online solutions to the construction industry (huh?). We decided to take the plunge after getting tired of working for the man for a little too long. I’ll be moving to KC where the business will be located and living with Kyle Hart while we get it off the ground. Should be pretty cool and hopefully it will work out. On a lighter note, I got married in March 2002 to a kick a** lady named Heather. She’s a yoga instructor (yea for me) and I actually took her to the house during the summer in 2001. She decided to marry me anyways. I still keep in touch with several brothers on occasion including Roy Beckman, Kevin Davis, Kurj, Becker, Wiz and a few others from time to time. I hope everyone is well, and please give me a call (913-568-5440) if you find your way to KC or to Colorado. YITMC-Nick

Wow, a year goes by fast. This time last year, my family and I were packing up to leave Singapore to come back to the US. I work for Delphi, and had the opportunity to live in Singapore for 2 years, leading our Powertrain software development efforts for the growing market in China. Living in Asia was a great experience. The work hours were long, but I had a chance to travel to many places on business as well as on pleasure with my family — Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and China (that’s me on the Great Wall outside Beijing during spring break last year with my family). It’s about this time of year I miss the warmth of Singapore — it’s pretty much 77 degrees at night and 90 degrees during the day — all year round. It’s snowing in Indiana right now 🙁 I’m now back in the States, living in Carmel, Indiana. I’m still working at our divisional headquarters in Kokomo, and this year marks 20 years! I’m the Software Architect for our global powertrain software development, and now spend my time tying together our activities in Kokomo, Brighton Michigan, Luxembourg, Singapore, and Bangalore India. I still see Dave Mannfeld, Eric Juliot, and a few other brothers often — quite a few of us work at Delphi. Followed the Boilers’ great football season this year, and went to the Penn State game with my family — my 9 year-old son is now a die-hard Boiler fan (too early I guess for my 7 year-old daughter). I stay in touch with Steve Wanders and his wife, Lori, and we attend homecoming football games together each year.

After living in Chicago all of my life I finaly got smart and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. I am having a great time as a commercial real estate agent in a booming market. My wife Estela and I have two children, Scott-14, and Raquel-12. And believe it or not, Phoenix also has a beautiful beach, 4 hours south in Rocky Point Mexico.

2003 Homecoming saw a number of alums back from the mid-’70s. (L-R: Gary Atkinson, Bob Buthod, Suzie Atkinson, Ali Goebel, Greg Goebel, Carol Anderson, Mike Anderson and Mike Andrus in the newly renovated living room).

Homecoming 2003 was a very pleasant surprise. Not only did a number of my fellow ’70s-era alums make the trek back to the house, but we found the house in terrific shape. The improvements were immense, and while the “”numbers”” in the house are significantly down, the quality of those brothers in the house is outstanding. As the weekend passed, one of the “”benefits”” of the brotherhood became more evident – regardless of where the brothers may have ascended to in their career paths — presidents of companies, physicians, attorneys, etc. — and, regardless of how much time may have passed since their paths last crossed, when returning to the house everyone still has the common bond that immediately ties them together with some of their best memories (and may take them back to some of their lowest common denominators). 😉 Being an Alpha Sig is a special thing.

I was in the Alpha Sigma House from 1972-74 and it was one of the most fun times of my life… room mates were Terry Berretine & Rob Alger and there was never a dull moment in the corner room on the 2nd floor. I kept in touch with those guys for awhile and even was in Terry’s wedding in 1977…however…as the years went by we did lose touch with happens to a lot of us. If anyone knows where two two are living now, I would be interested to know. As far as my life….my lovely wife Marcia and I have been married for 14 years. No kids, just a dog named “”Cos””. We reside in Fishers Indiana just northeast of Indianapolis. For the past 8 years I have been an Inside Sales Rep for Kirby Risk Electrical Supply (based in Lafayette by the way). I was last in the house at Homecoming a few years ago and had a chance to catch up with Greg Sinise. I would certainly be interested in any plans for reunion activities involving the classes in early to mid 70’s are just a get together with the Indianapolis area Alpha Sigs. It was great to hear about this website to catch up with old Fraternity friends….look forward to hearing for some of you

We have finally relocated permanently to Sarasota, FL and absolutely wish we had made the move years ago. I am making a concentrated effort to wind down my consulting business to enjoy the weather. Mike Hagan lives about five miles from us, and our families are getting together regularly. If you get to Sarasota – look us up!

In April 2002 I sold my last two automobile dealerships, leaving me to preside over my Internet based company for automobile dealers ?; and, work with my primary focus, that as a consultant, trainer and moderator in the automobile industry with Leedom and Associates – a company that I am a partner and Vice-President. Married now to Ali, my wife of 12 years, we have three children, all daughters, and now one granddaughter. We are still living in Evansville, but with a second office in Sarasota, FL, we are spending more and more time down there ? and someday will retire there. I still stay in touch with my pledge brother Bob Parsons, who also lives in Evansville, and Greg Sinise, and enjoy running into other brothers when I return to campus in the fall for three or four football games. At Christmas time I also spoke with Mike Anderson ( _top>> who has returned to Amherst, NH and is doing well. The Grapevine issue came and I saw a note from Bill Super, causing me to write the note, and encourage brothers of our vintage to get in touch. As time rolls by so quickly, I would love to plan ahead and pick a date to converge on campus in the fall. Homecoming perhaps ? a novel idea!

Had a great time in great weather. Mary and I watched the game from the Wisconsin student section – a very wild place. My youngest son was there on a recruiting trip as a diver for the swimming and diving team.

This board is really great. I love reading about you guys. I am retired from 2 companies: Exelon, the Chicago Electric Utility and The US Naval Reserve. Still working though ? as contract Project Manager to the nuclear utility industry. Have two kids in college and need to eat. One is a Senior in CS at Purdue; One is a sophomore (varsity swimmer) at U of Wisconsin ? Madison. Have a Senior in H.S. who is looking at colleges. Mary and I have been married for 26 years. After graduating, I spent 5 years in the Navy, most of it on a Ballistic Missile Sub. Stayed in the reserves and retired as a Captain in 1995. My last command drilled where the plane flew into the pentagon. I stayed in the nuclear business and worked for three different utilities, one in Michigan, one in New Jersey and the last here in the Chicago (Exelon) area. My last project was emptying out a spent fuel pool at one of Exelon?s (formerly ComEd) decommissioned nukes. Certainly was a challenge. Now I am contracted with a small utility (Wisconsin Electric) at their nuke just north of Manitowoc. Been here almost two years working 4 x 10?s. Man is that nice. I was tired of middle management and working 60 ? 80 hours a week. I visited Alpha Pi over the Homecoming weekend. It was great seeing old friends. I want to especially thank Greg Sinise for re-setting my fraternity pin in a new plaque. Some of you may remember that I was a Co-op for NASA. During one of my work periods, I was allowed to send a small trinket on the Apollo XI spacecraft. I sent my pin. When I was a senior, I presented the pin to the chapter mounted on a plaque. A few years later it disappeared. Over 25 years later, several months ago, apparently the person who took it, sent it back to the House. The plaque was a bit beat up. So Greg had it remounted. We re?presented it to the Chapter at the Homecoming luncheon. It was a great feeling. Thankfully someone?s conscience prevailed. Hope to see some of you

Robin (ME Class ’69) and Pat Young live in Forest Hill, MD and are the proud grandparents of 4 wonderful children. Ella (4-1/2) and Fox (almost 2) Rowland of Polson, MT and Reese (3-1/2 & Sabine (7 mo) Schofield of Baltimore, MD. Pat and I own Sunshine Designs, a custom embroidery and printed apparel business which is located in a building on our property. Unlike the years of industrial automation engineering I endured, this is a great business which I love going to work to every day (can’t say the commute is bad, either). Pat is retiring from 25+ years in the real estate industry and is looking forward to working with me in OUR business.
I had a dream last night (very nice one, I might add) which was, of all things, about old Alpha Pi. In my dream I saw many of the fellows I lived with for several great years and it motivated me to do a Google search for ASP today which then lead me to sign into the Alpha Pi website. I saw myself in one of the scrolling pics on the right of the homepage (the one with what looks like a barbershop quartet in our derby’s modeling the latest in senior cords). Couldn’t believe it. Also enjoyed seeing pics of 218 Waldron St. which is where I spent my first year at Alpha Pi. Great memories.
If anyone is in the Maryland area and would like to contact me, please do. Don’t get too many Hoosiers here these days. The only fraternity brother I keep in contact with is Stan Miller, my roommate on Waldron St. Ah, those were the days. I remember when we………….nah, probably too boring if you weren’t there!

I’ve been living in Conway, SC,(near Myrtle Beach) since August of 1994. I remarried in 2000 and we are now raising orchids. We’ve got about 100 plants in 2 locations in our house and something almost always seems to be blooming. I’ve been invited back to the Pharmacy School’s Executive Forum to speak to the students about my career on September 5th.

My pledge brothers were Tom Gordon, Wil Larkner, Vince Scala and Fred Waara. My big brother was Bob Snow, M.E. ’55. I am currently working at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Ft. Worth, Texas, on the Joint Strike Fighter program as a Sr. Staff M.E. on the Power & Thermal Management System. After 38 years in the aerospace Industry with Honeywell Engines & Systems as well as McDonnell Douglas Helicopter (now Boeing Rotorcraft), I decided I wanted to work on the last most advanced jet fighter to be built in the U.S. I retired in 1992 after spending 23 years at Garrett – Airesearch/AlliedSignal/Honeywell Engines and Systems as a Sr.Installations Project Engineer for Auxilliary Power Units and Propulsion Engines in Phoenix, Arizona. I spent the next 6 years working as a consultant and in numerous subcontractor rolls in APU and propulsion engine installations. In November of 2002, I went back to work full time for Lockheed Martin on the Joint Strike Fighter program in the Power & Thermal Management Section as a Sr. Engineering Specialist in Secondary Power Systems. I am currently working as the Sr. Engineering Liason Representative for Lockheed Martin on the JSF P&TMS at Honeywell Engines & Systems. I have attended two reunions with some of the Alpha Pi brothers from the classes of 1956 thru 1962 in the last four years: Bob Kuchar, Will Larkner, Don Morgan, Don Bundy and many more. I keep in touch with most of them by e-mail. Thanks for this opportunity to keep in touch with other Alpha Pi brothers. Keep up the good work
